Did you ever think , before trying to set a goal for something or starting a task that you wouldn’t be able to achieve it? Because you have some kind of disadvantage or the task at hand was just too big or you thought “Well Me…? No I’m not going to achieve this! Other people might, but definitley not me!”
Well i’m sorry to say but you thought wrong!! Excuses are not allowed when setting a goal or setting your mind to a task! Becasue guess what?? Anything is possible!!! And by anything I mean anything!
I recently watched this show called ‘the Biggest Loser ‘ which is a TV show about people who are really big and heavy and want to loose weight. These people are actually really brave people! They had the hardest training sessions, they went skydiving, on a canyon swing, they took a whole training session for over 100 people and most importantly they showed their faces (and bodies) on TV. And in the end they achieved so much! Some of them had lost over 70 kg!! After watching that show I thought: ‘Well if these people, who used to be shy and selfconscious, can achieve so much and go skydiving and lose heaps of kilos, if they can do that, then anyone can! Really anyone.
I also watched a video (see the link beloow) about a six year-old boy called Ryan who learned about the lack of drinking water in Africa and that you could help by building a well for $70. Ryan got so inspired by that and decided to help. He wanted to raise money for a well. And that’s what he did. He did extra chores and his parents gave him money for that. Even when an organisation called ‘water can’ told him that it would cost $2000 dollars to build a well, he didn’t give up. He kept on doing extra chores for the family and soon newspapers and magazines heard about his story and helped Ryan achieve his goal. After 10 months of hard work Ryan had raised the $2000 and the well could be built. The Ryan’s Well foundation is now working in 16 developing countries, responsible for over 600 projects and they have provided over 700 thousand people with clean water! (If you want to find out more about him, see the link below and you can watch the videos.)
So what can we learn from that? I’ll tell you. If you really really want something and set your mind to something, commit to it, then you can achieve it. Then you can achieve anything!! No matter how old you are or what disadvantages you have, you can really achieve anything in life! Don’t regret all the bad things in your life; but live your life and create your life. Enjoy everyday and set your mind to the things you want. Then you can achieve them!!
There’s so many great stories about people who achieved amazing things. Here are links to a couple of websites:
http://bethanyhamilton.com/about/– this is Bethany Hamilton’s website. She is a girl who got attacked by a shark while out surfing when she was young. She survived, but got one of her arm’s bitten off. Her story is so inspirational, becasue Bethany never gave up and kept following her dreams even with only one arm. I read her book and I thought it was amazing.
Here’s the video clip about Ryan who raised more than $2000 dollars to build a well :

This is another last link to Jessica Watson’s website. http://www.jessicawatson.com.au/about-jessica She is the youngest person to have sailed solo, non-stop and unasissted around the world! Her book is also really inspiring.
So I hope all these people inspired you, and there are so many inspiring people out there, but the most important message is that Anything is possible!
One last quote for you: If you’ve got enough heart, enough vision and enough reasons, then there’s nothing that you dream about that you can’t turn into reality!
